Martial Arts : Silat Cekak Malaysia

Silat Cekak is derived from the state of Kedah , Malaysia , and said to have been practiced by the senior commanders of the state government in the past. Among them was during the era of the reign of Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin Halim Shah II . Silat Cekak has been passed on by Panglima Ismail of the Kedah state government to the Panglima Tok Rashid and then to Yahya Said (as trustee) who hails from Batu Kurau , Taiping , Perak , 40 years later, on 5 Ramadhan 1385 Hijrah (28 Disember 1965), Yahya Said was put down to Ustaz Haji Hanafi bin Haji Ahmad.

Silat Cekak at that time had been born again and operated by Sari Cultural Arts Perkumpolan Sri Kedah. Malaysian martial art association was officially registered on August 19, 1971 by  Ustaz Hanafi  as President and Principal Teacher PSSCM. He died on August 13, 1986 after leading the PSSCM and expand this silat throughout the country for 21 years. This position was replaced by Ishak bin Haji Itam as President and Principal Teacher PSSCM on 21 September 1986 to the present day. Silat Cekak 99% Silat emphasizes the concept of self-defense, and only 1% of the attack. Attacking the Silat practitioner applies only when the situation was desperate Silat Cekak. Silat Cekak purpose of educating the students stressed the concept of waiting for the attack is consistent with the concept of self-defense martial art.
